A FESTIVAL of flowers in Ironville, has been declared “a huge success” by organisers.
Visitors from as far afield as Suffolk enjoyed the floral displays at Christ Church in the village.
The displays were prepared by Eileen McMeekin, Kath Brown and friends of the church.
The festival also featured stalls, competitions and displays from the Girl Guides, local walkers and the Friends of the Cromford Canal.
There was also handiwork from a craft and needlework group on display for visitors to see.
Churchwarden Michael Blount said: “It proved to be a fantastic and very well-supported event.
“There was such an abundance of wonderful floral displays, many of them given in memory of loved ones.
“All in all, a huge success!”
Organist David Fear played a programme of varied musical interludes throughout the festival to entertain visitors.
The festival was closed on Sunday afternoon with a special Songs of Praise event in the church, said Mr Blount.
