Woman run over in Ripley

A 48-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after being hit by a car on High Street in Ripley.
The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Saturday and involved a Ford Escort.

The woman from Langley mill received injuries to her head, shoulder and leg.

The road was closed until 2am as a result of the incident and police are carrying out enquiries.
