Published Date: 24 July 2008
RAILWAY workers past and present will reunite at the Midland Railway in August, as part of a special themed bank holiday weekend.
The reunion will be held as part of the Works Open Day event organised to commemorate the Horticultural Show and open days held at the former Derby Locomotive Works, which closed in 2005.

The event, for workers from the Locomotive Works and the Carriage Works and their families, will take place on Saturday, August 23 at 7.30pm. A special train will depart from Butterley to convey the guests to Midland Diesel Hall at Swanwick, where the celebration is being held.
