A music extravaganza at Howitt Primary School in Heanor raised £316.
More than 150 people attended the event which was the first of its kind since the Holmes Street school formed following a merger between William and Mary Howitt Primary Schools last year.

Deborah Walker, a parent and administration officer at the school said: "It was wonderful. It started with year fives who had been taking singing lessons for ten weeks. They put on a performance and sang a few songs."
