Golf club plan sparks traffic chaos concerns

CAMPAIGNERS opposed to the introduction of a new driving range at Shirland Golf Club, say the proposals would see the transportation of "half a million tonnes of rubble" causing traffic chaos.
Members of Shirland, Higham and Oakerthorpe Against Landfill (SHOAL) say 70 HGVs a day will be needed to carry 'inert' landfill material to the site – passing through Alfreton and the villages in the group – for 18 months.
