FRITCHLEY Primary School pupils celebrated European Languages Day in style last week with a French themed day.
The children were encouraged to wear red, white and blue for the day and were served a special French menu by fellow students.

Judith Lenord, teacher, said: "They had a great day it was absolutely wonderful they all really enjoyed it."

Mrs Lenord said staff decided to focus on France because the subject has just been introduced to the school timetable.

She said: "It gave the children a chance to put in to practise what they have learned so far."

Youngsters also tried their hand at French word games, making French flags and pastries and learning about French artists.

During the morning students from Mortimer Wilson School even visited to help out with activities.

Some children were also set the challenge of building an Eiffel Tower out of newspaper and masking tape.
