A WOMAN who is a teaching assistant to Ripley meningitis survivor Edward Bright has won a chance to appear on a TV show.
Carolyne Bateman, who works at St John's School, in Ripley, says if she wins the prize money on offer on the Sky One show 'Are you smarter than a ten year old?' she will give it to Edward.

Edward and his twin brother William will be in the audience cheering Carolyne on.

The show will be filmed next month at Elstree Studios in London. Carolyne got on the show after applying online and going through a rigorous audition process. She said: "Out of thousands who applied there are just 100 people filmed."

The show will be presented by either Dick and Dom or Noel Edmunds with prize money of up to £250,000.

Carolyne said: "If I won it I would give half to Edward. Hopefully I'll win, it depends on the questions."

The show will be aired around October.
