The tournament, which saw wrestlers from around the world battle it out for victory in a specially erected ring in the hall, only drew 50 spectators. Organiser Mr Ball, of Kirkby, vowed never to bring another show to Heanor. Mr Ball continued: “The event may have made an overall loss, but the dedicated 50 wrestling fans were certainly entertained by the likes of Spanish grappler Jose Santos and ‘Gipsy’ Joe Savoldi.
