THE Seat Young Driver programme is broadening its appeal further with the news that it is soon to be made available to disabled youngsters.
Young wheelchair users aged 11 years and up will be able to take driving lessons with the programme, which is sponsored by Admiral.
Lessons, conducted by fully qualified ADI driving instructors, will take place in new Seat Ibizas equipped with DSG gearboxes and fitted with hand controls and dual controls. Lessons will roll out progressively to all 11 Seat Young Driver venues nationwide.
The move has been welcomed by Sophie Morgan, TV presenter and former reality contestant on BBC Three’s Britain’s Missing Top Model. Morgan, 26, was paralysed in a car accident at the age of 18.
