Theatre group is Edinburgh-bound

Uncontained Arts, a professional theatre company established in 2008 by former graduates of the University of Derby Theatre Arts course) will be heading north to the Edinburgh Festival to present and showcase two of their recent productions.

Uncontained Arts developed, produced and first presented Treasure Island at Derby Theatre, to great

critical acclaim, and subsequently took it on a mini tour to Buxton Opera House and The Lowry in

Manchester and they will soon perform it at the Helix in Dublin.

Treasure Island has just been performed at the Buxton Fringe, in the Paupers Pit. This is Uncontained Arts’ first time at the Edinburgh Festival and they are very much looking forward to it.

The Letters of Jane Austen, a delightful and moving record of the experiences, frustrations and pleasures familiar to many people of Jane Austen’s time, is Uncontained Arts’ second festival-bound production.

The Uncontained Arts team heading off will consist of four current students and four graduates of the Theatre Arts Course.

They will also be supporting Threesome Theatre with their production, Berlin Cabaret, a brand new show written and directed by 3rd year, very recent graduates, with a cast of current students and graduates, which will be in Edinburgh from August 20-25 at the Space on the Mile.
