Musical take on Sillitoe’s book

NOTTINGHAM author Alan Sillitoe’s Saturday Night and Sunday Morning is to be presented in a new musical version at Nottingham Playhouse from May 8-12.

This world premiere, based on the acclaimed novel, brings Arthur Seaton to life like never before.

Saturday Night and Sunday Morning is the story of a young man’s awakening in the late 1950s in working class Nottingham.

He works at the Raleigh factory by day earning enough money for his weekends of drinking, womanising and fishing. Any woman is fair game to Arthur and he happily flits from one to another, but has he pushed his luck once too often?

The book and lyrics are by Catherine Spoors, and the music and additional lyrics are by Stephen Williams. Please be advised that the musical contains some strong language and adult content.
