Messing about on the river

Three Men In A Boat is coming to Derby Theatre

Three Men In A Boat is coming to Derby Theatre

Jerome K Jerome’s Three Men In A Boat can be seen at Derby Theatre from November 14-17.

This a classic British tale of boating misadventure, complete with working pub, live piano, music hall singing and a dog.

As part of the current autumn season, Derby Theatre will present Jerome K Jerome’s tale which has been keeping audiences laughing for well over a century.

This charming and comedic tale is the quintessential example of the charm and wit of Victorian England.

Originally intended as a guide to boating on the Thames, this ripping yarn of youthful friendship, mischief and folly celebrates the very essence of Britishness, inspiring many of our comic legends from Morecambe and Wise to Monty Python.

In an attempt to escape the stresses of city life, three friends, J, Harris and George, accompanied by their faithful canine companion Montmorency, decide to take to the river in order to relax and rejuvenate.

The holiday, however, quickly unravels and descends into chaos.

This brand new version of Three Men in A Boat is presented by the award-winning Original Theatre Company, who takes it firmly by the scruff of the neck.

The show is equipped with a working pub, live piano accompaniment, some ale, music hall singing, a dog and a feast of physical comedy, audiences can expect a fantastic, music-filled, feelgood night out at the theatre to remember.

Tickets are £9-£22, concessions £9-£20. For more information and to book tickets call the box office on 01332 59 39 39.
