Three of the best in concert

The Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Michael Sanderling at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on Thursday, October 25, starting at 7.30pm.

The concert features three works, starting with Prokofiev’s Cinderella Suite, taking some of the most memorable moments from the composer’s much-loved ballet score.

Then there is Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto, featuring the highly-rated Russian star Mikhail Simonyan as the soloist, a work brimming with Armenian spirit and an irresistible rhythmic drive.

The programme concludes with one of the most famous symphonies in the repertoire, Dvorak’s Ninth, ‘From The New World’.

Tickets to see the concert cost £10-£32. Call the box office at the Royal Centre for more details on 0115 9895555.
