Lilley’s back to make his Mark again

SONGWRITER Mark Lilley’s third album Songs & Gouache is out now.

The 13-track offering is a real labour of love by the talented 40-year-old, who wrote, orchestrated, performed, engineered, mixed and produced the music on the album, while also providing the distinctive artwork for the CD cover and the CD notes inside.

The former pupil of John Flamsteed School in Denby was born in Holbrook and spent his childhood in Kilburn.

He began writing music before he was into his teens and has never looked back, already gaining plenty of acclaim for his first two albums, The Opening Titles and Mark Lilley.

Recording at his state-of-the-art Lilley Pad studio, Mark’s first album was released in August 2004, to positive reviews and the second followed in 2007, to an equally warm welcome.

This album also paved the way for solo concerts at Wirksworth Arts Festival, Ripley Music Festival, headlining Belper‘s Lark In The Park’concerts, a headline concert at Matlock Bath’s legendary Fishpond and numerous folk club and radio session appearances too.

Now, with Songs & Gouache, he has enhanced his considerable reputation once more, and the album is still available to buy.
