Lorries convoy to visit Midland Railway - Butterley

On Sunday 7th October the Midland Railway – Butterley will be having a visit from 60 lorries dating from the 1940s to the 1980s.

The lorries are taking part in an annual rally known as the Limestone run.

There will be a range of vehicles with flatbeds, recovery vehicles and sided lorries with rigid and articulated vehicles taking part.

Manufacturers such as Leyland, Foden, Albion, and others will be represented in this impressive rally.

The lorries are due to arrive at museum complex after 2pm and will be departing after 4pm.

Alan Calladine the Midland Railway Trust Development Officer said: “ This is a great opportunity to see such a large collection of historic lorries in one place and they are sure to present a very impressive sight.”

The Midland Railway – Butterley will be running its usual service of Steam trains over the weekend, and the attractions of the Museum Complex will be open.
