A well-known Derbyshire folk-singer has created a video asking people to support the bid to save Heage’s historic windmill.

Songsmith John Tams made the piece to lend his support to the appeal for funds the windmill owners say they need to combat the wet rot which has been discovered at the landmark.

Repairs are expected to cost £100,000 of which £15,000 has been raised so far.

Appeal organisers said that the video was a ‘great contribution’ to the appeal and urged those wanting more information about the windmill or the appeal to visit www.heagewindmill.org.uk.
