This striking image shows All Saints Church in Marlpool - engulfed in flames on Christmas Eve in 1949.
It was sent into us by grandmother of four Hazel Wright, of Hands Road, Heanor, who was nine at the time. The retired worker at the benefits and unemployment office in Heanor, believes the snap belonged to her late mother. She said: “I was just going through some photos and I came across this - I thought it might be of interest to your readers. I don’t remember much about it, but some people in their 80s and 90s might. I think there was only the tower left after the fire.” Do you remember the Christmas Eve blaze? Why not get in touch via email@example.com.
