THE picture we featured last week of a presentation at Mansfield Knitwear in Somercotes prompted a call from Roland and Maureen Smith.
They told us their daughter Angela Smith, pictured third left, had suffered a car crash and decided to organise a collection among her work colleagues, which made £200 for the intensive care unit at the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary, where she was treated.
Angela, now 41, suffered a broken neck but made a full recovery. Her brother Darren, now 44, pictured at the back, was also hurt in the smash, said mum Maureen, of Lower Somercotes, pictured left.
The firm closed about 15 years ago. Angela now lives in Swanwick.
