Madam,

We would like to say how much we support Karen Hall (Letters, November 12) and feel so sorry for her Staffordshire bull terrier dog.
Every year many animals, including wild life, are terrified by fireworks that are far too loud.
The elderly must think it is the blitz.

Our little dog is a nervous wreck, she goes off her food and it is awful to watch a much-loved pet suffer so much and not be able to do anything for them, as products from the vets and pet shop do not work.

She has run away from us when youngsters let off bangers in the daytime, when they are home from school, prior to the fair week.

Do parents know where they get the fireworks from? Do they care?
A little more thought at this time of year would be appreciated.
