Madam,

So nothing changes then the same old incompetence shown over the last few years with dustbin collections, plastic bottle saga, now the Cinderhill saga, what next can we expect from the incompetence of this council?
Instead of the taxpayers paying for this mess how about if all the councillors put their year's expenses in to pay instead, or is it a case of, "nothing to do with me guv".

Whoever made the blunder should be sacked immediately and without a golden handshake not the people of Amber Valley to pay for the Council's lack of common sense.

Michael Clarke,

British National Party 03/07/2008 17:12:55
Good points raised by W Parkin.
However I feel things will only get worse as long as the Conservatives and/or Labour groups run our council.
A case in point:
At last Mondays council meeting a representative from Amber Valley Housing gave a presentation on how wonderful they were. Among the multitude of statistics was the claim that 98.4% of repairs were carried out within set timescales.
When questioned what the timescales are, by British National Party councillor Lewis Allsebrook, the rep. replied 'it varies depending on the repair, but it is up to ONE YEAR'
Someone in the public gallery was heard to mutter 'why not make it five years then you might get 100%'
This seems to be the way nowadays - move the goalposts to suit yourself. Personally I don't think waiting for a whole year to have a leaking roof fixed is acceptable, but to AVBH and the Tory and Labour councillors it is.
