I urge any NSPCC fundraisers in the county to question this directly with the NSPCC and ask them how they intend to use the thousands of pounds raised by the public in Derbyshire.
Many children have benefited from the service in Ripley over the y
ears and there are many, many more who need it to continue. Please make your views heard and help stop this closure.

NSPCC Response
In response to letters about the NSPCC's Ripley premises I would like to assure readers that the NSPCC is committed to working in Derbyshire and we are looking at all the options available to us. At the moment working out of one building instead of two is looking like the most cost effective option.
As a charity with a small amount of local authority funding in Derbyshire we rely on working with various organisations to help end abuse. Meeting local needs effectively relies on all decision makers working together and has to be continually reviewed given the funding available.
This review includes seeking the views of local professionals about service provision. We all have a part to play in protecting and helping children.
If anyone has any further concerns I would be happy to address them if they write to me: Alan Wood, Assistant Director NSPCC, 3rd Floor, CIBA Building, 146 Hagley Road, Birmingham B16 9NP.
