Madam,

I am researching my family ancestry and have relatives who once lived at Ripley.
I am trying to find descendents of my great grandma Mary Riley (nee Powell) and her sister Annie Coalborne (nee Powell).

Both Mary and Annie came from West Derby, Liverpool in the early 1900's to work in service. Mary at Butterley Hall and Annie a
t Osmaston Manor near Ashbourne.

Mary married Joseph Amos Riley in 1906 and they had five sons - William (my granddad), John, Ernest, Eric and Jedadiah.

They lived at Havelock Street, Ripley and that's were Mary died in 1956.
Her sister Annie married John Coalbourne from Osmaston in 1910 and they had two sons - Albert and Harold.

They lived at Crossley Street in Ripley.

I do not have any more information on Annie or her family.

Mary and her sister were orphaned at an early age and were both placed in a children's home. Their parents names were Peter and Mary Powell (nee Disley).

I hope this is enough information to go on and I would be very grateful if you could print it in your column and hopefully it may find someone that can possibly help me locate my distant relatives.
