Madam,

Well done to Keith Staley for yet another grand letter!
Like him, I am still English and not British or European.

Like him I despair of this New Labour government and its politically correct allies at other levels of government.

However, I feel we should all say 'well done' to local Labour councillors Paul Smith, John McCabe and Brian Lyttle for their work in stopping plans to force new parking charges on village car parks such as the one in Somercotes (Ripley and Heanor News July 3).

It was also thanks to the BNP councillors who voted against new car park charges. All the conservatives voted to charge cars!
