Madam,

I write as the leader of the Labour Group on Amber Valley Borough Council.
In the aftermath of the elections to the council on May 1 I want to thank all those residents of the borough who continue to put their trust in a very hard working group of Labour Councillors.

We lost one seat to the Conservatives and two to the BNP and must accept the results as the democratic choice of the people, of those who voted and those who did not. Heanor in particular has lost the services of Celia Cox and KenArmstrong, two of the most committed and effective councillors that the town has had in many years.

I think we all owe them our gratitude for what they have done for the people they represented and for Amber Valley as a whole.

I look forward confidently to their return.

Bob Moon
Leader Labour Group,
Amber Valley Borough Council
