We have been regulars here since it first opened.  Sadly, no more.  We have had several delivered meals over the years and they know where we live.  Not any more.  New driver I assume rang me three times, hardly understood or spoke English and said we were giving him the wrong post code!!  We never got our meal, he went back to the restaurant!!
I collected a take away last night.  For the second time part of the order was wrong and part missing.
Food was really horrible, not the Jeera of old!!  It was bland, full of green peppers and a waste of money.  Sorry Jeera, not sure if you have changed hands, chef, staff or whatever, but finished with you now.  Will find somewhere of decent quality and more like you used to be.

We went to Jeera on Saturday night (31st March) and had an awful experience. There was a large party in celebrating a birthday. They were extrememly loud and foul mouthed. One of the guys was bearing his bottom to the rest of the group! They were constantly up and down out of their seats, shouting and bawling ancd were generally intimidating.

They spoilt the evening for us and I’m sure most of the other people dining in there. The management didn’t make any effort to ask them to calm it down, they were buying bottles of spirits to have shots, so they were obviously more interested in the profit than other people’s comfort.

We won’t be going to Jeera again. If the guy who I handed my money over to had bothered to ask me if I had enjoyed the meal I would have told him that I was far from happy but as he didn’t (Iguess because I didn’t leve a tip) then this has influenced my decision not to bother again.

Had evening meal inside the restaurant last Wednesday (25th Jan 2012)

Food was pretty good actually, my sizzler was great, wife had the chef special (not so great but ok) and daughter had Lamb something – pretty average.

The Nan are excellent – in fact the best ive had anywhere

But then we began to wonder. On the way out we saw something so often seen in indian restaurants, that being cleanliness and a ‘what cant be seen at night doesnt matter’ approach

the glass tables in the reception were filthy , the front door is littered with fag ends and its all looking rather shabby when the lights are up.

The wife had very bad heartburn all night (not usual for her) and a bad stomach for me with trots the next day.

Sorry Jeera, but the standards of cleanliness make me wonder what the kitchens are like . … no return visit im afraid.

Having heard about how good the Jeera was, we called in on Wed 21st of December at 8pm. Considering it’s the run upto Christmas restaurants are generally busy, but not this one, I’d imagine the local crem. would of had a better atmosphere!

Popadums and 3 sauces, abit bland in taste i thought, but our starters were okay, well sized and came quick.

But the main course was another story, my garlic chilli chicken was a re-heat, and lacked punch as what you would expect from this kind of dish. The rice was luke warm, and there was no apology from the staff when this was pointed out – i refused to pay for the rice.

For 3 people the bill, with deduction for ONE rice only came to £63 – considering that was for a starter and Mains with 4 beers is not good value for money for the quality of the meals.

Mmmm regulars at the indian , to be honest we were not impressed, over charged and the food was poor (takeaway) shells in the prawn curry and a lot of pieces of lemon! Looked a lot but think think theyre trying to save money by filling the curry out with rubbish, put us off going again

Absolutely awefull service had to wait 2 hours for main course to come out, when it did, it came out cold and had to be sent back. Ruined our evening and our friends birthday. Nice one!

Jeera in Codnor is an Indian restaurant. It is quite posh and inside is much bigger than it looks from off the street! They serve very nice but abit pricey food. Inside it is very nice, looks more expensive than it is. They have a bar and serve all that you would expect in an indian.
