The fifth annual Whatstandwell Festival will be held on Saturday, July 5, at Hankin Farm, New Road.
The fun starts at 4pm when the music programme commences with the opening of the Acoustic Picnic and goes on until 11pm, with a continuous flow of music.

There will be four local bands playing live on the main stage, including Riptide, a five-pie
ce band from Belper, who will be playing a selection of pop rock with a hint of blues.

James Warner Prophecies, a Derby-based mix of heavy rock, acoustic and indie, with an original and unconventional sound will also be playing along with the ambient acoustic driven electronica of Lo-Fi Lung.

The new addition to this year's festival will be the Acoustic tent, where organisers aim to showcase more local talent away from the main stage. It is hoped that this will give some younger and less experienced musicians a chance to hone their talents.

There will be a licensed bar serving a range of locally brewed traditional ales likely to include beers from Spire, Ashover Brewery and Amber Ales. Outside, there will be children's games and activities in the large field plus a barbecue.

Whatstandwell Social Club Chairman, Mark Haslam said: "we have the best line up of live music we have yet seen, with bands contacting us asking to play at the festival. We see this as a huge complement to our event, demonstrating the respect that the musical community holds for the festival.

It will be a great place to get together with family and friends in a relaxed setting, whilst sampling some of the best local beers, good wines, with a background of fantastic live music, and because we have an enclosed barn we don't have to worry about the weather.

Admission is £3 and includes a free souvenir glass. Camping is available.

Further information can be found at www.whatstandwell.org. Admission is only £3 and includes a free souvenir glass.camping is avaiable.
