FOUR live bands from around the region will crash into Derby for a one night only performance at The Venue next week.
Acts from Nottingham, Leeds and Derby will spend Thursday, July 24 entertaining the people of Derby with their disparate styles of music.
Dirty Kanvus is a Nottingham based psychedelic acid rock jam band from Nottingham who describe their music as
a mix between The Doors, The White Stripes and a combination of 'fiery rock riffs, spaced out jams and twisted poetry.'
The Smokestacks are rapidly becoming regulars on the Leeds music scene. They have recently evolved from a five piece to a four piece band and describe their style as 'short, sharp and punchy pop songs.'
Soloist James Capper has been moving around the East Midlands with his indie act for just one year. Taking influence from bands such as The Arctic Monkeys and The Kooks, he performs self-penned songs about real life situations. He has already built up a good fanbase.
The Maybeez have been going for a couple of years after springing up in Derby. They play rock, punk and pop tunes and say they use music as a method of escaping the lure of the sofa and daytime TV.
The bands will be performing in separate sets throughout the night at the Abbey Street venue. Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets will cost £4.
