The eighth annual Ripley Music Festival will be running in the town from July 11-19 and kicks off with a bumper weekend of musical action.
The George Inn will be the setting on Saturday, July 11, for a free, all-day launch party.
The band-packed gig features sets from Lick Squid (2pm), Firing Blanks (2.45pm), Creep Show (3.30pm), Andy And Phil (4.15pm), TT Shakers (5pm), Psycho Tendencies (5.45pm), Kate and Kelly Marsden (6.30pm), The Dirty Riffs (7.15pm), Hearing Colour (8pm), Front Line (8.45pm) and Population Lost (9.30pm).
On Sunday, July 12, you can enjoy rock and blues at the Nag's Head with Metropolis.
Entry is free and the gig starts at 5.30pm.
For something completely different, try All Saints' Church, where Alfreton Ladies Choir will be singing from 7.30m on Monday, July 13. Admission is £3-£5.
