Swimathon in aid of cancer care

A NURSE is taking to water this weekend to raise money for charity.

Michelle Denyer, of Matlock, will be attempting to swim 100 laps of the pool at Matlock’s Arc Leisure Centre as part of the Swimathon Weekend 2012.

The 48-year-old has so far been able to raise more than £1,000 for the national charity Marie Curie Cancer Care.

She said: “I’m swimming for the people that can’t, because many people are affected by cancer and they can’t do this.”

To sponsor Michelle, people can visit www.swimathon.org and search for ‘Michelle Denyer’ under the ‘SimplySwim’ section.
