Old picture mystery solved

Madam,

Re the photograph (Ripley & Heanor News, March 15, 2012) in the Memory Lane section entitled Bus appeal was taken at the Derby Evening Telegraph offices at Northcliffe House, Derby.

On the left is Mr Peter Ball, who ran for Heanor and District Mencap in the Derby marathon, and was a Telegraph worker. That is why the photo was taken there. Second left is Mrs Margaret Stokes, secretary; then next is Mr Edgar Whiteman, chairman; Mrs Rosemary Watson, treasurer and last one Mr Les Riley, president.

They raised enough money for the mini bus.

Mrs A Newton

(Mrs R. Watson’s daughter)
