Sgt. Stacey Hamlett

A new Sergeant has taken over the Safer Neighbourhood policing teams in Alfreton, South Normanton, Somercotes and the surrounding areas.

Sgt. Stacey Hamlett, who has been a police officer for more than 12 years, started in the role in September.

Stacey first started his career in Swadlincote but has been based in the Amber Valley area since 2007, working as a response officer and also in a role developing community intelligence in the area.

He now leads the local Safer Neighbourhood policing teams who cover Alfreton, Somercotes, Riddings, South Normanton, Pinxton, Crich, Whatstandwell, South Wingfield, Dethick, and Pentrich.

Outside of work, Sgt Hamlett enjoys football and supports Derby County FC.

Sgt. Hamlett said: “During the past few weeks I’ve been busy getting to know the communities which my teams serve and finding out about local issues.

“Our main priorities are to work in partnership with other local agencies to target anti-social behaviour, to offer community reassurance and to reduce any issues related to illegal drug use and supply. My officers and I will continue to provide a visible presence in the local area and help make our area a safer and more pleasant place for everyone.”
