A cup presentation is taking place in this picture taken from our archives.

It says on the back that it was the Ripley Charity Cup – but was that football or rugby?

It’s hard to tell from the picture the player on the left does not have shin pads on, but this may have been a football match from the days when it was not a requirement to wear the leg protection.
