Memory Lane Roy Barraclough opens shop 1986

Comic and actor Roy Barraclough was in town to open a new store.

The star, best known for playing Coronation Street landlord Alec Gilroy alongside Julie Goodyear as Bet Lynch, was opening a new Children’s Society shop.

It is hard to tell which town the shop was in – but we are hoping some of you can remember. Get in touch on 0115 9 446186 if you can tell us more.

We believe the picture of Roy, who also stared in comedy sketches alongside Les Dawson, was taken 1986.
