Children give to Albanian aid appeal

These primary school pupils are shown here kindly donating once treasured possesions to what appears to be a shoe box appeal.

We are not sure of the year of this one, but our archives show that this was a collection for Education Aid’s Albania appeal.

The youngsters here are from Street Lane Primary in Denby in what looks to be the early 1990s. The charity Education Aid stilll exists today and works for the advancement of education in developing countries.

The trust, which is entirely funded by donations from the public, aims to achieve maximum literacy among the poorer sections of communities it supports and has no political affiliation.
