Ripley Morris Men here present a cheque for £1.608.23 to the Ripley Community Hospital League of Friends.

The Morris dancers raised the money throughout 2012 at a variety of shows across the borough. Chairman of the league of friends Phyllis Holmes is shown receiving the cheque on the right here. She said: “Thanks must go to the Morris Men for their continued support to the league throughout the years. These funds are vital to the league’s work.” Phyllis said the money will help contribute to a new ultra-sound scanner at the hospital.

The league plans to hold car boot sales on Sundays throughout 2013. These are on April 14, May 12, June 9, August 11, September 8 and October 6. Its yearly spring fair is set for Saturday, March 23, from 10am at the hospital and its summer garden party set for 2pm on Saturday, July 13.
