Donate to an in-shop food bank in Heanor

A Heanor charity has placed a bin in the Costcutter store on the market place in a bid to get donations for its food bank.

Sue Clarke, manager of Salcare, is pictured here with Costcutter staff Dawn Parkin, Tracey Young and Emma Beckett at the launch of the campaign.

Sue said: “What we’re hoping is that people will drop one tinned or packaged item in - even stuff like toiletries. Really it’s whatever people can spare. A lot of people who we’re helping are people who have fled domestic violence - who have nothing.”

Salcare is a local charity that has been helping those in need or on low incomes in Amber Valley for over 30 years.
