A NEW look Ripley and Heanor News is set to hit news stands next week.

Your local paper is getting an ultra-modern make-over from Thursday, May 31 – so be sure to look out for it at your newsagents and supermarkets.

Despite a change in image, the newspaper will still be the first place to come for all your local news and sport. We will still carry all of your favourite features, such as Memory Lane and Rescue Me too.

And your Neighbourhood News reports will be more important than ever – so if you are part of a church, group, or organisation, send us the details of your local events and meetings to news@rhnews.co.uk.

Editor Julie Crouch said: “Our new look paper is more than just a new image – we are placing the reader right at the heart of what we do.

“We will be continuing to break stories on our website at www.ripleyandheanornews.co.uk, as well as using Facebook and Twitter. Then each week the newspaper will be an in depth look at the week’s events, as well as more news and sport. We want you to get involved in local stories and issues through our website, Facebook, Twitter and, of course, through our letters page.

“There will be plenty of space for your comments and views in the new look News – so make sure you have your say!”

The News will also be the first port of call for all your local sports news and team information.

Sports editor Kev Miles said: “We hope to give you more in-depth analysis, top features and more insight into your local clubs – and the people who make them tick. If you are involved in a sport or club we don’t cover then get in touch at sport@rhnews.co.uk”

The new look News will also include a brand new entertainments section and will give you the low-down on all that is happening in the area. We will also be inviting you to submit entries to our readers’ picture of the week and much, much more.

Also make sure you come and meet the News team at Sainsbury’s Ripley, on Friday, June 1, from 11am until 3pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
