Bag pack money for mountain trek

A sponsored bag pack at Tesco in Heanor helped raise almost £400 on Saturday toward a local woman’s bid to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

Ella Mcmanus, who can usually be seen managing the stalls at Heanor Market Place, hopes to climb the 19,341 ft peak in August as part of a team of 20 Nottingham Trent University students.

The 32-year-old from Fletcher Street aims to raise more than £2,500 for the Child Reach International, which looks after disadvantaged children over the world.

Ella needs to raise a minimum of £600 before April and plans to also take part in a skydive in the same month. To donate visit mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/ellamcmanus.
