African trade fair comes to Alfreton

A trade fair to raise funds for people in South African townships takes place in Alfreton on Saturday.

The Beyond Fair Trade Autumn Fair takes place at The Genesis Centre, from 12 noon to 5pm, and features a professional masseur, glass paintings, craft and sweet stalls.

Amber Valley MP Nigel Mills is set to attend and the Sarah Patrick School of Dance will perform. Peter Hallam, chief executive officer of Community Manufacturing, Services and Training Ltd who are organising the event, said: “Local interest in the event is increasing and the quality of the products on sale is surprisingly high. People will have an opportunity to buy items not available in the United Kingdom.”
