After panic buying hits Derbyshire supplies - here's where you can still get fuel

The news comes as drivers rushed out - some with Jerry cans - to top up as reports emerged last week of a HGV driver shortage.
This afternoon we spoke with garages across the town to find out how many still had supplies.

Sainsbury’s on Rother Way, Esso on Brampton’s Chatsworth Road and Jet on High Street, Brimington, still have fuel.
However Texaco on Mansfield Road, Hasland, and Matlock Road, Walton, are empty as are Shell on Duckmanton’s Markham Lane and Shell on Heath Road.
The manager at Jet on Ashgate Road declined to comment.
A worker at Sainsbury’s on Rother Way said there was “plenty of fuel” however there was “too much demand”.

Heath Road’s Shell garage is expecting a delivery “within a couple of days” however a worker said he had received “over 100 phone calls” from motorists today, asking about fuel.
No-one was available to speak with us at Tesco or Morrisons filling stations.
However a Tesco spokesman, speaking about the national situation, said: “We have good availability of fuel and we’re working really hard to ensure regular deliveries to our petrol filling stations across the UK every day”.

Derbyshire’s Local Resilience Forum – which is made up of the emergency services, the NHS, councils and other public sector organisations from across the county – has met to discuss the current issues around fuel availability being experienced in some parts of the country.
A forum spokesperson said: “All organisations have stocks of fuel and are able to run services, so Derbyshire residents will be able to get help in an emergency and will be able to receive critical services as required.
“The organisations all have contingency plans in place which can be used should the current situation continue.”

Hide AdDerbyshire County Council’s leader, Councillor Barry Lewis, reassured residents about local services.
He said: “All of Derbyshire’s public services, including the county council, have plans in place for situations that might cause disruption to the services the communities of Derbyshire require.
“While these plans are not required currently, they will be enacted if needed and all of our organisations will work together to address any issues.”
People are again encouraged not to buy fuel sooner than is needed, and not to collect fuel in unsuitable containers or store fuel at home because of the safety risk.
