A newly formed Belper band plan on making an impact on the Derby music scene this summer.
Five piece indie band Whitemoor, who take their name from an area of the town which two members of the band live close to, formed in April.
The band is made up of former members of two of Derby's top bands - Ejectorseat and The Beau Peepshow.
Ejectorseat, from Belper, had success with big hits in the iTunes download charts but the band called it a day due to work commitments clashing with tour schedules.
Whitemoor, who play an energetic mix of indie, pop and electro will play their debut show at the Rockhouse in Derby on August 1 and also hope to do a number of gigs in Hacketts in Belper as part of planned indie nights.
They will be recording their debut single Animal Farm in September followed by a Uk tour before the end of the year.
Barrington Mole, guitarist with the band has high hopes for the future. He said: "Id' like to be touring again in a year's time and am looking forward to getting my music heard by people."
The band are also celebrating the news that Ejectorseat's former record label want to work with them and will be head to London in September with a view to recording a single.
