Plea to cat owners

A cat charity is urging owners to have their pets neutered.
Sylvia Plummer, volunteer for Derby Branch of Cats Protection, said: "We are now well into the breeding season and we cannot stress enough how important it is for pet owners to book their cats into the vets for this relatively simple operation."
Unspayed females become pregnant and they are also at risk from the many fatal viruses that can be spread by mating.
